Did Washington Ever Burn One Down?

washinstoned

Am I really proposing this? Yes I am, and here’s why…

There is no denying that many, many early American farmers used cannabis for making various things such as paper, cloth, carpets, rope, and more. During various times in our history its cultivation has even been mandatory (following World War II Kansas was filled with cannabis crop ). In today’s modern-economy, the cellulose of its stems and leaves and the oil from its seeds could prove to be effective and efficient ways to produce ethanol and bio-diesel fuels.

Washington himself even grew hemp, and lots of it. I think that Washington would be surprised to hear that hemp is now illegal. Surely if Washington were around today he would be the first to advise President Obama to re-legalize it, advising that it could mean billions of dollars in government revenue that are desperately needed at this time.

I’m not saying for sure that he did, or he didn’t–I’m leaving that speculation up to you as I am simply throwing it out there. I will leave you though with the wise words of Washington when he said “Make the most of the Indian hemp seed, sow it everywhere.” You tell me.

the reason pot is illegal in the first place is on the basis of [not so recently] revealed false studies. that-and slam campaigns like reefer madness. let me collect my documents…..
i titled this ‘actual effects of weed’:
    1. Long Term. Does not kill brain cells. this conclusion was based on a 50’s study where monkeys were given cannabis and were determined to have lost brain cells and died. what the public wasn’t told, was that the monkeys were given MUCH MORE WEED than any one person could possibly (literally) smoke through GAS MASKS. the reason the brain cells of the monkeys died was due to loss of oxygen.
    2. Long Term B. Zero cases of lung cancer, brown lung, or emphyzema. any mal effects at all are caused by the inhaled plant material and can be wholly avoided through vaporization. pot temporarily paralyzes the cilia of the lungs. there are no radioactive properties of pot (unlike cigs)
    3. Addictiveness. There are more children in rehab for cannabis than anything else in the world. 95% of these cases are involuntary. weed has no addictive properties and is only habit forming. chemically, pot is less addictive than caffeine.
    4. Gateway. Weed is not a gateway drug. it has no psychological properties that cause people to want to try other drugs. less than 1 in 104 people who try marijuana try cocaine. - caused by prohibition and blending of soft drug trade. sad, isn’t it?
    5. Laziness. only short term. every presidential candidate ever has admitted to trying marijuana. 25% of white house workers admitted to smoking cannabis in the past 4-5 years
    6. Potency. anything can be abused including pot. “if i stab myself in the fucking eyeball with a fork, can forks be made illegal because they can be abused?” -joe rogan.
    7. Crime. more crimes are committed in blind anger. everything got worse under alcohol prohibition. i.e. wild west. 7.7 billion dollars every year spent to enforce cannabis. alcohol poisoning rose 60% under its prohibition.
